Top 30 Travel Moments

Seeing the Taj was one of my best travel moments.

I returned to the US last week and people keep asking me if I’m experiencing culture shock and if I’m sad to be back.  Apparently my friends and family don’t think they’re entertaining.  After seven months on the road with a handful of various jobs, I am happy to be home.  I am ready for steady employment and my own apartment — I find myself spending an increasing amount of time on home decorating websites.

I do, however, want to keep adventures and constant growth a part of my life.  I still feel young and enthusiastic about life and have a lot I want to accomplish before I turn 30 (two and a half years from now).  But, before I reveal those (in a blog momentarily), I thought I would take a moment to reflect on 30 amazing experiences I have already had in my travels:

1.  Slept in the Sahara Desert 2. Made pasta with an Italian, in Italy

3.  Drove the Road to Hana in Maui       4. Worked on a farm

5. Hiked and camped in the Alps 6. Learned to rock climb in the Costa Blanca mountains

7. Learned to ride a horse in Southern Spain 8. Sailed the Amalfi Coast

About sistersbailey

We are Perrin and Sarah Bailey, collectively known as “The Sisters Bailey”. The moniker was born out of a crazy weekend at the 2009 New Orleans Jazz Fest and it was the first time we had ever been referred to as one unit. We grew up in Alexandria, VA together and then separated for college - Perrin to The University of Pennsylvania and Sarah to Northwestern University – and somehow landed together in New York after graduation. It was in the midst of the hustle of Manhattan that we became friends for the first time in years. Somehow we landed jobs in the same industry - Sarah worked in marketing at HBO and Perrin managed creative digital promotions for her media agency’s main client, Disney - just three blocks from one another. One day we decided to leave our jobs, sell our belongings and travel abroad with a backpack and a collective savings of $10K. The stories of our continuing adventures and those of other fearless travelers are here to inspire you.

Wonderful blog! When you drove the road to Hana, did you continue all the way ’round the southern shore?

The south side of Mount Haleakala is the reason a friend of ours says she wants to be reincarnated as “a cow on Maui.” So, let’s all go back! This lifetime, I mean.
